In recent years, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) has become more common in the United States. While these drugs can be effective for a number of conditions, they are not as commonly used in the U. S. today. The American Heart Association has a list of the most common NSAIDs in use today. The most commonly used NSAIDs are:

  • Diclofenac(Voltaren)
  • Ipratropium(Iride)
  • Naproxen(Naprosyn)
  • Pemetrexed(Emend)
  • Riotin(Rituxan)
  • Eplerenone(Lovenox)

The number of NSAID use cases in the U. is increasing, and there are many drugs available that can help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, such as:

  • Phenylhydroxybutyrate (Panax ginseng)
  • Phentermine
  • Phentermine+topiramate (Topamax)
  • Diclofenac (Voltaren)
  • Lansoprazole (Prevacid)
  • Piroxicam (Piroxicam XR)
  • Piroxicam XR/Piroxicam (Piroxicam XR) (diclofenac potassium)
  • Omeprazole (Prilosec)
  • Omeprazole XR (Prilosec XR)
  • Phentermine (Benazepine)
  • Omeprazole (Prilosec XR)
  • Omeprazole XR (Prilosec XR) (topiramate)
  • Phenytoin (Dilantin)
  • Topiramate (Raloxifene)
  • Topiramate XR (topiramate extended-release)
  • Topiramate XR/Prilosec XR (topiramate extended-release)
  • Topiramate/topiramate XR (topiramate extended-release)

The use of NSAID medications can have serious side effects. These are the most common of the various NSAID use situations. The risk of side effects associated with NSAID medications is higher when used with large doses of the NSAID drugs, such as:

  • Phenobarbital (Sertraline)
  • Phenylpropoxyphene (Pregabalin)
  • Phenobarbital XR (Sertraline)
  • Phenobarbital/topiramate (Raloxifene)
  • Phenobarbital (Raloxifene XR)
  • Topiramate (Raloxifene XR)

It is important to remember that the risk of heart disease associated with NSAID use is higher in people who are taking a higher dosage of NSAIDs than in the general population. This is due to the fact that NSAID drugs increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, and that these risk increases in people with pre-existing heart conditions.
